8 image optimization tips for image SEO

Yes you can optimize your webpage image in Google search results. When you search for a specific keyword in search engine Google check its index and show the desired and most suitable results according to image tags. Visitor view your image with your website link so image can be redirected to your website which increase your website traffic.

Image size

1.      Low size high quality image

most of the people upload 2mb, 3mb, 5mb images which increases the weight in their bandwidth and their webpage takes time to load. You must optimize your image by converting them in kb but image should be of good quality.

How can you convert image of mb size into image of kb size?

You can easily compress your image using Photoshop or other image processing software.

2.      Rename image with theme keywords

After compressing the image size now you have to rename the image in to your image theme. For    example if your company name is “ Mizzo ” and you are creating an image for contact us page than you must rename the image with name “ contact-mizzo ” or “ contact-us-mizzo” .  you must use “-” between words, don’t use spaces instead of space use “ – “ .

The reason for specifying company’s name in image is that when people will search about company Mizzo than you will find this image in your search engine results.   

3.      Alt tag for each image

If you are a web designer then you must write alt tag for each image. Use keywords in alt tag. Write image theme alt tag. For example if you are writing alt tag for an image of about us than your alt tag should be “ about xyz company ”

4.      Write title tag for the image

For better optimization title tag should be written for each image.

5.      Description for image

For image optimization you should write description for each image.

6.      Give your image url of your webpage where it is uploaded.

7.      Unique image

If you know how to use Photoshop than you can create unique images. But you don’t know how to use Photoshop, than you should click good images for your post. Google for some reason don’t want to show copy images again and again in its Google image search. So you must create good images for your post.

8.      Caption for image

You should use caption for image which will help you to reduce your bounce rate. Well captions are not important for SEO but they can play a major role in reducing your bounce rate.
